"I was abandoned by my father. My mother burned to death. Her unborn twins miscarried. My little sister was consumed by fire. I couldn't save her. I couldn't save any of them. For three years I wondered alone - filled with shame, grief, anger, hate. At eighteen years, I put a knife to my heart and killed myself. The year was 1509.
Fear turned physical as I carried it hard and heavy on my back. And with this fear and failure tucked neatly in the forefront of my being, my current life has been scattered and directionless.
I was fairly skeptical of doing a three-day workshop and on more than one occasion wished for wings to fly me the hell out of there. But my pathway to discovery was to emerge.
One of the first questions asked by Sue Myers upon commencement of her workshop was "why are you here?" Such a simple question I had battled so long to answer. But I knew: I was here to learn to reach the fear and anger welling deeply in my being.
It was hard work. During the workshop not a day went by where something hard and painful wasn't triggered.
